Scarlett

Scarlett

The Diva. The Loudmouth. The Mistress of Distress. Scarlett started studying Middle-Eastern dance in 2006, and has been in various stages of love with it ever since. She started classes at Avalon Studio with Bastet, and then began studying Classical Egyptian dance with master- teacher Latifa, with whom she now studies intensively. Scarlett believes passionately in dancing to music you love (even when that means bellydancing to Janis Joplin), and loves watching other dancers find and speak their own voices. She strives always to be “the visual embodiment of the music,” a mission given to her by her beloved teacher. Her MC style at Charm City Tribal has been described as “sassy,” “salty,” “R-rated,” “loud,” and “oh-my-god-did-she-really-just-say-that-into-a-microphone.” She is grateful to dance with her sisters in Lilam, and deliriously happy to be part of such a wonderful community as the Baltimore/DC bellydance one.
